Summary
Christ’s divinity and bodily Resurrection stand, for Panagopoulos, at the foundation of salvation. Acts 17 shows that the Athenians’ rejection of Paul arose when he proclaimed resurrection, a difficulty answered by apostolic eyewitness. Thomas passes from doubt to the confession “My Lord and my God” when the risen Christ appears in John 20:19-29. Joseph of Arimathea receives from Pilate the verified dead body and lays it in a rock-hewn tomb; the grave cloths, seal, guard, and immense stone refute the allegation of theft. Despite practical fears, the Myrrh-bearing Women approach faithfully and hear the angel announce that Jesus the Nazarene has risen. Christian faith therefore entails following the crucified and risen Lord in obedience, self-denial, and separation from sin. His special word concerning Peter reveals mercy toward the repentant through contrition, tears, and sincere confession.
